Suitcase TV recognised as Finalist in the IABM BaM™ Awards 2018

Iphrame Remote Commentary shortlisted in Produce category

Suitcase TV Ltd, world-leading developer of IP-based broadcast technology, is proud to announce that Iphrame Remote Commentary is shortlisted in the IABM BaM™ Awards 2018. This means that Iphrame Remote Commentary, one of a family of IP-based solutions aimed at bringing down the cost of live production, has been identified by the judging panel as one of the leading products or services to be exhibited at IBC 2018.

Commentate from anywhere via the internet

Iphrame Remote Commentary enables commentators to watch proxy streams of live events via an internet connection and commentate on them. Meanwhile, a supervisor can control output and communicate with commentators via a dedicated user interface. This might also be from a remote location. Apart from a good quality headset for the commentators, the solution requires no specialist hardware. Supervisors and commentators simply log in to the cloud-based server via their PCs.

Connect securely with VBN

VBN (virtual broadcast network) provides a secure tunnel over HTTPS with outbound connections through a statically addressed relay server. This removes the need for complex firewall, NAT or ACL configuration. The solution offers additional encryption using AES256 to protect against man-in-the-middle attacks. This ensure that only the intended client/server has access to the feeds.

Eliminate the cost of commentary

Using this solution, broadcasters can eliminate travel costs for commentators and also eliminate the expense of building commentary booths.

David Atkins, technical director at Suitcase TV comments: “Suitcase TV has a commitment to helping broadcasters deliver more content for less. Iphrame Remote Commentary is just one way of making that vision a reality. By shortlisting us for this award, the industry recognises the importance of what we’re doing. Our plan is simply to keep doing more of it.”

Visitors to IBC can see Iphrame Remote Commentary in action at stand 2.C10.

An independent panel of specialist judges will now scrutinise the shortlisted entries and provide their choice for the category winner. The IABM will announce results and present awards on Saturday 15 September 6.00 pm in The Forum at the RAI.
