Purple Monitoring; Macro-Block Detection
Purple Monitoring can now offer a specialist macro-block detection product that interfaces with other products such as the Miranda iControl system.
The unique detection technique searches for visible artefacts in the video signal and offers a variety of settings to the customer to adjust the sensitivity of the detection. Primarily these set the parameters for the level of visibility, the duration of the event required to trigger the alarm and setting specific to the input format.
The Purple Monitoring Decoder (PMD) accepts CVBS, SDI or ASI format signals. (ASI signals are decoded to digital video baseband, CVBS are digitised). Each PMD processes up to 4 video services at one time regardless of the input format.
The PMD reports continuously to the management PC where alarm profiles (time window during the day) and trigger sensitivity can be further refined to reduce false alarms. The management PC reports to the operator or a further level of supervisory system. Interfaces available include e-mail, log files, audible alarms through PC speakers, Miranda Kaleido and Miranda iControl.

- The macro-block detection software can be supplied with or without the management PC.
- Purple Monitoring Controller is a 2U PC with dual hot swap PSU’s and mirrored hot swap drives running Microsoft Windows XP Pro.
