At Suitcase TV we are at the forefront of new developments in software and hardware products for use in the TV industry. The research and development we carry out is what differentiates us from our competitors, so we recognise having a creative, motivated and enthusiastic team of software and hardware engineers is the key to our success.
Our top-class team of developers has been growing steadily since we were founded in 2000 and many of our engineers began as students on work experience or joined us straight from university. Every year we try to offer at least one paid summer placement to a student with the right attitude and potential who would like to gain experience in this high technology industry. The potential often exists for this to become an offer of long-term employment in the future.
As a student on summer placement, we would not expect you to have acquired all the knowledge you would need to perform as a fully fledged engineer, but we will give you opportunities to show us what you can really do and you will get to work on real projects. We have found that our students return to university with new-found knowledge and experience that can improve the quality of their final degree classification.
If you join us straight from university you can expect to receive on-the-job training and mentoring from our experienced engineers.
Our Hardware Engineers are fully conversant with Digital Logic and with FPGA Programming Language. Our Software Engineers use C & C++ extensively, along with other object orientated languages. We design for Windows, Linux and embedded systems.
