Purple Encoder Decoder
The Purple Encoder Decoder from Suitcase TV delivers an outstanding full D1 resolution video and audio service over IP, reliably and at a fraction of the cost of satellite.
An SDI video input is transcoded into TV quality H.264 and AAC audio through the specialist Purple encoders. With up to 6Mbits/s of video and 120Kbits/s for audio, it can be played via RTP and UDP networking protocols straight to the decoder box located anywhere in the world, via internet technology.
At the receiving decoder end, the video is switched back to SDI video with embedded audio ready for broadcast offering an adequate lower bit-rate alternative to using other up-link methods such as satellite technology.,
The system utilises real time video filtering, de-interlacing and noise reduction hardware and firmware which makes it ideal for broadcast, studio monitoring, VTR Playback, CCTV or any situation where a good-quality video and audio is required.
Part of the Purple Encoder Decoder’s excellence is that it can be powered up and forgotten about for trouble-free encoding and decoding; and in its low-profile 1U rack-mount chassis, it offers a small compact solution.
